RELEASE TUESDAYS: JADA GIVES “THE LAST KISS” TO HOLLYWOOD, WITH THE HELP OF DEF JAM, MYSPACE,  AND FIREWORKS AT HIS RED CARPET RELEASE EVENT AT THE KRESS

Let us start off by saying, like all RELEASE TUESDAY EVENTS, THE ARTIST, JADAKISS WAS ACTUALLY AT THE EVENT AND PERFORMED.

Jadakiss, who is on his Obama-like campaign trail, has hit the “BEST” coast looking to drum up support for his new album ‘THE LAST KISS’. The sometimes under  rated pen-man from the LOX hosted an album release party at the trendy Hollywood night club Kress, this past Tuesday 4/28/09. The red carpet event was presented by Def Jam, the new label home of Jadakiss, and Myspace, with additional event promotions by LA based marketing company FIREWORKS PRODUCTIONS. Like most red carpet events, hosted by someone from New York, here in HOLLYWOOD, the event brought out some of LA’s most beautiful people by the hundreds.

By 9:30pm the lines were packed, the crowd pushed against the barricade, some anxious to get in the multi-level venue, some hoping to get the elusive “VIP wrist bands”, and others wanting to get a glance of the stars that walked the red carpet. The event was attended by the likes of Andre Merritt, Megan Good, De Ray Davis, New York (I love NY), KD Aubert, the cast of the of the show Candy Girls, D-Love, new R&B sensation P. Jericho, Fireworks CEO Mike Heat Williams, Danger from The Love of Ray J, DJ E.Q, some washo that looked like Mos Def, but wasn’t, Persia White,  Electrik Red, the girl group signed to Def Jam, they might be the only girl group in the industry now, shouts to En Vouge, 702, and Danity Kane.

While we are mentioning VIPs, we must mention that this was a free event, BUT was excepting donations which went to a fund to support a close friend of Fireworks, radio and music industry veteran DJ HEIDO, who is battling cancer. This was an awesome part of the event and it looked as though everyone felt and supported the cause, because the donation box was full and everyone was rocking the blue DJ HIDEO LIVE LIFE wrist bands that they received when they made a donations. Jadakiss actually pulled out like three hundred bucks on stage during the show, and donated, now that’s REAL! With that being said, every level of The KRESS nightclub was moving, wall to wall urban socialites, it was so packed, the only thing moving freely through the club was a rumor that Young Jeezy was going to perform. Jeezy didn’t perform, but Jadakiss ripped the stage, running through classic Lox songs with Styles P on his side, taken us back to young Jason mix tape gems, and hits from the new album THE LAST KISS. It seemed that Jadakiss felt the love from LA and he gave it right back, giving the guest at Kress, a Club Tunnel NY style performance. Even “industry” executives, and  “hardcore” LA gangsters stood intoxicated, as JadaKiss splashed everyone with his patron laced, raspy delivery. WOLFGANG INVITES FIREWORKS PRODUCTIONS TO EXCLUSIVE BEVERLYHILLS DINNER. Fireworks staff attended an exclusive dinner at the posh Wolfgang Steakhouse in Beverly Hills. The exclusive networking event/ customer appreciation dinner,  was attended by executives from all industries including entertainment, real-estate, e-commerce, and medicine. Wolfgang Zwiener the owner of the luxurious steakhouse, was the host, and with his dapper suit, winning smile, and fresh from St. Tropez tan, he made you feel right at home, or like Robin Leach was going to pop out any moment.  The amazing food was constantly being served, dish after dish, but when it came to the steak, wow, it literally melted in your mouth. The only thing that could upstage the steak’s flavor was, the laid back, almost sports bar atmosphere that the event took on, when everyone began to watch the Boston vs. Chicago, playoff game, which was being shown on the many flat screens that graced the establishment. Everything from the outdoor patio, to the paintings on the wall, to the amazing wine room was elegant, even the bar service was great. Paramount Home Entertainment and BET will be releasing Doughboys on DVD, June 16th 2009. The film stars Wood Harris, Sticky Fingaz, Reagan Gomez-Preston and Arlen Escarpeta The film is about fours friends who are determined to make something of their lives. The friends will work any hustle no matter how risky. But when they bite off more than they can chew, their loyal bond is tested as they fight to stay alive. Doughboys is the debut film from Preston Whitmore's Give Back Raise Up Program, through which he finances and produces low-budget pictures showcasing newcomers in front of and behind the camera.
